Just Simply Alice
I am a self-described creative gardener: someone who cultivates creativity, nurtures community, and identifies conditions for people to flourish. I created this website as a place to centralize and explore my Just Simply Alice creative endeavors.
Back in high school I conceived the pen name ‘Just Simply Alice’. My pen name represents the culmination of my many attributes, interests, and skills within one concise name. More recently, the significance of ‘Just Simply Alice’ also includes my passion for mastering something seemingly complex to the point of perceived simplicity.
In 2016 I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Oregon. Currently, I work full-time as an eco therapy based child and family therapist. I have a certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), in Tier 1 of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), and as an ACORN effective therapist based on analysis of therapy outcome data. My approach to therapy is with a genuine and creative style. I utilize both a collaborative process and evidence-based research to help empower my clients.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I focused on gaining research experience in Psychology and Public Health. As a result, I worked as a lead research assistant for about five years on NIH/NIMH funded public health and program evaluation grants. This research resulted in authorship on peer-reviewed publications, as well as presentations at national and international conferences.
I earned my B.A. in Psychology and Spanish at SUNY Geneseo in NY. Thereafter, I completed my Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine and Dentistry.
